Imane Khelif's first match was against Angela Carini of Italy, and this match started the biggest controversy of this year's Games, as the Italian boxer forfeited the match in fear of getting brutally smashed by the Algerian boxer. Amidst a series of hateful comments, adversities, the 25-year old fought all of it to win her quarterfinal, semifinal, and final by the score of 5-0, and with that, she won the historic Gold medal in Women's 66kg category.
