Neeraj Chopra finished the 2024 season with the conclusion of the Diamond League final. In the final in Brussels, Neeraj secured a second place finish with a best throw of 87.86 metre. It was yet again a matter of 1 centimetre for the star Indian javelin thrower as it was Anderson Peters from Grenada whose 87.87 metre throw was enough to win the competition.
Soon after his season ending performance in the Diamond League, Neeraj Chopra shared a post on social media which has gone viral.
"As the 2024 season ends, I look back on everything I’ve learned through the year - about improvement, setbacks, mentality and more," Neeraj wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
"On Monday, I injured myself in practice and x-rays showed that I had fractured the fourth metacarpal in my left hand. It was another painful challenge for me. But with the help of my team, I was able to participate in Brussels," he added.

"This was the last competition of the year, and I wanted to end my season on the track. While I couldn’t meet my own expectations, I feel this was a season in which I learned a lot. I am now determined to return, fully fit and ready to go," India's double Olympic medallist said in his post.
"I want to thank all of you for your encouragement. 2024 has made me a better athlete and person. See you in 2025. 💪," the 26-year-old said before signing off with a Jai Hindi.
However, more than the post itself it is Manu Bhaker's congratulatory post in response to Neeraj's social media post which has gone viral on the internet. Notably, the double Olympic medallist's mother was spotted talking to the javelin thrower in Paris after which several marriage and dating rumours of the two even floated on social media.
It is in this light that the fans started to view her latest post.
"Congratulations @Neeraj_chopra1 on a fantastic season in 2024. Wishing you a speedy recovery and more success in the coming years.
#NeerajChopra," Bhaker posted.
