FSDL Chairperson Nita Ambani Delighted With Success Of ISL 2020-21 Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

Neeta Ambani said that in four months, ISL brought happiness back to the lives of people and a whole football season was organized, overcoming difficult challenges.

The seventh season of the Indian Super League (ISL) has been successfully organized amidst the coronavirus epidemic. On Saturday evening, Mumbai City FC defeated defending champion ATK Mohun Bagan to win maiden Indian Super League title at Mumbai's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda.

Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) chairperson Nita Ambani expressed her delight on Saturday for the successful and uninterrupted seventh season of ISL despite Coronavirus pandemic.

Nita Ambani says that the seventh season of ISL brought happiness back in everyone's lives.

"Season 7 has been a tribute to the real power of sport, the true glory of football," said Ambani in a video message ahead of the season finale.

FSDL, a subsidiary of the Reliance group, manages and run ISL.

"In spite of the global pandemic, despite the odds against us, the fear and uncertainty, this season of ISL has brought immense joy, cheer and celebrations back into our lives.

"I am proud of the fact that we were the first, the longest, and the most successful sports event to be held in India in these times," she added.

Neeta Ambani said that in four months, ISL brought happiness back to the lives of people and a whole football season was organized, overcoming difficult challenges.

The FSDL chief also talked about the main achievements of ISL 2020-21 season. She said that the number of matches was increased from 95 to 115 in the seventh season.

The seventh season of ISL began on 20 November 2020. There were 11 clubs participating in this tournament. The entire season was played without any audience inside a bio-secure bubble in Goa. Nita Ambani also congratulated Mumbai City FC on winning the League Winners Shield'.
