Hours before the start of the inaugural Women's Premier League Auction, as many as 39 players have been added to the WPL 2023 Auction list. While 23 of these players are from India, 8 players from Thailand also feature in this list.  4 players from England, 2 from Scotland and 1 each from Australia and Netherlands have been added less than 24 hours to go for the bidding war in Mumbai.


The Women's Premier League auction is all set to get underway in a few hours from now at the Jio Convention Centre. The historic event will see a total of five teams take part which are: Gujarat, Mumbai, Lucknow, Delhi and Bengaluru. Each franchise will have a purse of 12 crore to pick their players.


A total of 409 players had earlier made the list but the latest addition means the total number has gone up to 448.


India: Nancy Patel, Nikita Singh, Sumitra Jat, Priyanka Bala and Sheetal Rana. Apurwa Bharadwaj, Lal Rin Feli, Asha Shobana, Shivani Jangid, Bharti Rawal, Mayuri Singh, Riti Tomar, Anisha Ansari, Neena Chaudhary, Nikita Chauhan, Monika Devi, Shivani Singh, Drishya I V, Akanksha Kohli, Mukta Magre, Kashish Agarwal, Sarah Mahajan and Debasmita Dutta.


Thailand: Sornarin Tippoch, Chanida Sutthiruang, Thipatcha Puthhawong, Suleeporn Laomi, Onnicha Kamchomphu, Nannapat Khoncharoenkai, Nattaya Boochatham, Naruemol Chaiwai


England: Emily Arlott. Katie Levick, Georgia Adams and Hollie Armitage


Scotland: Kathryn Bryce and Sarah Bryce


Australia: Nicola Hancock


Netherlands: Babette de Leede


The inaugural edition of the tournament will see as many as 22-matches played from March 4 to March 26 across he DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Mumbai vs Ahmedabad could be the first match of the season. It is worth highlighting that while the Mumbai team is owned by Mukesh Ambani, the Ahmedabad based side was successfully bid for by Gautam Adani.
