Suryakumar Yadav's 'Heartbreaking' Instagram Story Days Ahead Of IPL 2024 Opener Goes Viral
IPL 2024: Suryakumar Yadav is racing against time to regain match fitness ahead of MI's opener.
Suryakumar Yadav, India and Mumbai Indians star, has shared yet another cryptic Instagram story, sending netizens into frenzy, also probably hinting that all is not well at the MI. Notably, the five-time IPL champions will be undergoing a season of transition with Hardik Pandya confirmed as their captain despite Rohit Sharma, the man who has led them to each of their five trophies, being very much part of the team.
Moreover, Hardik was not even part of the MI setup and was included from Gujarat Titans (GT) in an all-cash deal before the auction. That led to a feeling that those who were loyal to the franchise, the likes of Suryakumar and Jasprit Bumrah, having not trusted for the leadership role, even if the decision makers felt some cricketing rationale in their decision to replace Rohit as the captain. And now days before the start of IPL 2024, Suryakumar has posted a heartbreak emoji on a story through his official Instagram handle.

Suryakumar Yadav In Race Against Time To Be Fit For MI's IPL Opener
Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav is in race against time to be fit for Mumbai Indians' IPL opener. The 33-year-old had undergone a successful sports hernia operation and it remains to be seen whether he will be able to recover in time for MI's first game of the IPL 2024 which will be against Hardik Pandya's former franchise Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (March 24). With Hardik leading MI this time around, it is Shubman Gill who has been trusted with the leadership responsibilities at GT.
The 'heartbreak emoji' that Suryakumar has posted also perhaps could be an indication that he might have to miss a few matches of IPL 2024 before he is available for selection. However, there is no official confirmation of the same.
