Well Prepared To Tackle 'Experienced Spin' Attack, Says Shubhman Gill Ahead Of KKR's Clash Against SRH

KKR coach Brendon McCullum has made up his mind to start the KKR innings with this 21-year-old player in IPL 2020.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will lock horns against each other in the eighth match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 today at Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium. While KKR had to face defeat to Mumbai Indians in their first match, SRH was also defeated by Virat Kohli-led RCB in their first match.
KKR' has made many changes this time in their team as compared to the previous season, but after seeing his game plan against Mumbai Indians, it seemed that Karthik has not learnt from his previous mistakes.
KKR lost their IPL 13 first match against Mumbai Indians by 49 runs. Karthik will have to prove himself in today's match vs SRH and lead his team to victory.
Talking ahead of the clash, KKR's opener Shubman Gill, who failed with the bat in SRH's first match against Mumbai Indians, said that his team are well prepared for an "experienced" SRH bowling unit.

Shubhman Gill did not get much opportunity to showcase his skills last season as his batting order was getting changed frequently. However, KKR coach Brendon McCullum has made up his mind to start the KKR innings with this 21-year-old player in IPL 2020. Gill impressed everyone with his performances in U-19, domestic cricket and last year's IPL.

"The wicket will get slow and favour spinners as the tournament moves ahead. At the moment medium pacers are getting swing under the lights initially.
"They have got a very experienced bowling attack .We have practiced well for situations when bowlers are at the top, we just need to bring those things to the game. Everyone has practiced against spin very well and we are very confident.
"With Nitish and Eoin Morgan we will be in a better position to tackle the threat of Rashid and off-spinners. A left-hand right-hand combination will help us," he said.
Shubman Gill made his debut in the 11th season of the Indian Premier League. He has played 27 matches in IPL so far. The star player has scored 499 runs in 24 innings at an average of 33.27 and has also scored four half-centuries.
"I keep on talking to DK bhai and Russell. They keep on telling me that everyone has a fixed role and they ask me to perform my role. "We have a lot of variation in our team. We have got a left-arm spinner, chinaman leg-spinner and we have a nice spin attack," Shubman Gill concluded.
