MI Legend Rohit Sharma To Play For PBKS? While it is being speculated that Rohit Sharma will be released by Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of IPL 2025 ever since it was certain that he would be forced to play only as a player for MI in IPL 2024 following the team management's decision to replace him with Hardik Pandya as the captain, Punjab Kings (PBKS) are one team that have shown interest in roping him in, should his name come up in the mega-auction.

Initially it was a statement by PBKS Head of Cricket Development Sanjay Bangar which suggested that the team might be willing to go after Rohit and now a latest social media post from PBKS has added fuel to the fire. With Shikhar Dhawan having already announced his retirment from international and domestic cricket, including the captain, they would be in search of a captain too and who better than Rohit Sharma, India's T20 World Cup-winning captain to take up the job.
