Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians IPL 2023 Highlights: Ajinkya Rahane's (61 runs off 27 balls) fiery knock following Ravindra Jadeja's (3/20) magical spell powered MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to an emphatic seven-wicket win over Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match on Saturday (April 8). Today, Mumbai's top-order was simply outdone by CSK's bowling attack. Another highlight of the high-octane CSK vs MI El Clasico was the return of Ajinka Rahane who announced that he isn't finished yet by scoring the fastest fifty in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 so far. The win comes as a big boost to CSK's morale and their Net Run Rate (NRR).

Earlier, MS Dhoni won the toss and invited Mumbai Indians to bat first. Chennai Super Kings' Ravindra Jadeja (4-0-20-3) and Mitchell Santner (4-0-28-2) halted Mumbai's advance by sharing five wickets to restrict the hosts to paltry 157/8. The CSK bowling duo spun web around MI batters after the home side raced to 61 for one in the powerplay. Jadeja, the senior all-rounder, rocked MI's batting lineup by taking three wickets for 20 runs in his four overs, while Mitchell Santner and Tushar Deshpande bagged two wickets apiece, and Sisanda Magala picked one wicket.

Chennai Super Kings restricted Mumbai Indians to 157/8 in 20 overs on the back of a brilliant performance by the bowlers. For Mumbai, Ishaan Kishan scored the maximum 32 runs off 21 balls. Tim David contributed with 31 runs off 22 balls. Tilak Verma scored 22, skipper Rohit Sharma scored 21, Hrithik Shokeen scored 18 not out while Cameron Green added 12 runs to MI's total.

CSK now have two wins in three games while MI have lost both their matches so far.

CSK 159/3 in 18.1 overs (Ajinkya Rahane 61, Ruturaj Gaikwad 40 not out).
