MI's Nehal Wadhera Travels Wearing Batting Pads As Punishment For Being Late In Team Meeting- WATCH VIDEO

Nehal Wadhera was spotted wearing batting pads at the airport.

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) have been the most successful side in the history of the competition. One of the major reasons behind that has been the kind of talents that they have unearthed over the years who have gone on to make a difference for them. The likes of Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah among others were all scouted by MI much before they went on to become the household names in India and around the world.

This year too there have been a few cricketers from MI who have forced fans to take notice and one of them has been youngster Nehal Wadhera. While the INR 20 lakh purchase has already played quite a few influential innings in this season already, this time around he has grabbed the headlines for turning up late in a meeting. Notably, the team had a rather unique way of punishing players who turn up late for team meetings as they have to travel with the team wearing a specially crafted  "punishment jumpsuit".

However, in a twist to that punishment, Wadhera, was asked to travel wearing his batting pads and a video of the same was also shared on their social media handle.

"#MumbaiIndians youngster #NehalWadhera turned all heads at Mumbai airport with his punishment #OOTD. He was captured with his pads on instead of traditional jumpsuit. According to our sources, #Nehal regrets being late for batters meeting," MI tweeted.

Talking about MI's IPL season so far, after a forgettable run last year where they finished at the bottom of the table, the Blue and Gold Brigade have a real chance of qualifying for the Playoffs. They are currently sitting at the third place with 14 points from 12 matches. They have two crucial games against LSG and SRH lined up which will determine whether they make it through to the business end of the competition or not.
