Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) produced a thrilling fixture at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday (April 21) in match number 36 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. It was one of the most exciting matches of the competition so far as KKR went on to beat RCB by 1 run. The victory propelled KKR to the second place on the IPL 2024 points table but the defeat was the sixth loss in a row for RCB who find themselves at the rock bottom of the IPL 2024 points table.
However, a fan has now accused the on-field umpires of declaring one of RCB's six as a four, hence costing them 2 runs which could have made the difference in the end as Bengaluru were all out for 221, chasing 223 to win. The fan even shared video clips to back his claim. The video is from the 5th delivery of the 17th over of the match being bowled by Varun Chakaravarthy where Suyash Prabhudessai's shot was signalled as four even as a section of fans reckoned that it was a six.

Virat Kohli Out Of A No-Ball?
Meanwhile, it is pertinent to note that the umpire being accused is not the only controversy of the match. Earlier, in the RCB innings Virat Kohli was caught and bowled off a very high full toss. While both Kohli and his non-striking partner Faf du Plessis felt that it was a no-ball, the new hawk-eye technology displayed the trajectory of the ball and showed that the ball would have passed the batter below the waist height had he been at the crease, deeming it a fair delivery. Cricket fraternity was divided over the decision with ex-India all-rounder Irfan Pathan, calling it the right decision but former India batter Navjot Singh Sidhu claiming that it was not-out.
