Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ended a 10-year title drought when they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2024 final to clinch their third title. Before their triumph in IPL 2024, the last time KKR won the championship was when he was the captain of the side in 2014. Interestingly, Gambhir made his KKR return ahead of IPL 2024 and managed to strike gold in his first year, helping the team claim thier third title.
However, Gambhir has now taken up a head coach position with the Indian national cricket team which means he will not be associated with the KKR. Not only did the ex-India batter became the head coach but he even took Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate, who were both part of the KKR support staff, in the Team India coaching setup.
