Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the greatest captains to have played the game. He has revived the careers of many Indian cricketers, be it, Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma. Currently, he is leading Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing 2023 edition of the IPL and has played a crucial role in CSK reaching their 10th IPL final. Meanwhile, former Australia cricketer Matthew Hayden lauded Dhoni and termed him a magician.
"MS is a magician. He takes someone else's trash and makes them treasure. He is a very skilful and positive captain. He said something really interesting which I thought summed up not only his humility and his truth around cricket where he is represented and that is in Tamil Nadu Cricket Association," Hayden told PTI.
Dhoni has been playing this season of a cash-rich league with a knee injury and gave himself a window of 8-9 months to take a call on his career. Since the mini-action is set to take place in December, Dhoni does not want to take that headache now. Thala will always be there for his team CSK, be it sitting somewhere outside or in the playing form.
"The alignment between that association and the franchise, how strong that is in terms of building that process. To me that is MS. There is a systematic way of going though things and working through them. He did that for India and he is doing it for Chennai Super kings.”
"Whether he plays or not next year it is almost irrelevant. Personally, I don't think he will but then he is M S Dhoni," he added during an event organised by the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).”
Talking about this year’s IPL, the four-time champions will be locking horns with the defending champions Gujarat Titans in the final of the cash rich league 2023 on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
