"Very much excited. When it comes to the action, that will be the most exciting time. The fans are an important part of every franchise and it's my first time [at the IPL auction]. We've got a settled team already and just have a couple of slots to fill. I'm feeling pretty relaxed. Other teams have more slots to fill. We're hopeful on a couple of players. Everyone will have different needs and wants. I've always believed the most important person in a T20 team is the captain. Rahul captained India in SA a couple of nights ago. He's a terrific person and calm under pressure. Can't wait to work under him. I'm just looking forward to the atmosphere," LSG head coach Justin Langer said before the Chairman's address.

Background
IPL Auction 2024 Highlights: The D-Day is here. It's the IPL Auction Day ahead of the 2024 season, the last mini-auction before the mega-auction prior to the 2025 edition of the tournament. There is plenty of action anticipated at the auction room as this is where teams are built which then go on to achieve incredible things throughout the course of the tournament. The combined purse of the ten participating franchises in the competition is a whopping 262.95 crore which means don't be surprised if a player or two get a life-changing amount from an IPL team.
Gujarat Titans (GT) have the higest purse value with them heading into the auction with a total of 38.15 crore with them. On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have the least purse available at their disposal a total of 13.5 crore. The purse of the rest of the teams are: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Rs 34 crore, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Rs 32.7 crore, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Rs 31.4 crore, Punjab Kings (PBKS) Rs 29.1 crore, Delhi Capitals (DC) Rs 28.95 crore, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Rs 23.25 crore, Mumbai Indians (MI) Rs 17.75 crore and Rajasthan Royals (RR) Rs 14.5 crore.
Meanwhile, the trade window of the IPL has already seen the most high-profile transfer in the history of the tournament with Mumbai Indians (MI) not only getting Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans (GT) in an all-cash deal but also making him the captain ahead of Rohit Sharma who led them to each of their five IPL titles. The decision to announce Hardik as the captain was taken by MI days before the auction which is why Rohit Sharma did not have the option of going back to the auction. However, fresh media reports suggest that the IPL Trading window could reopen on December 20 and will remain open up until a month prior to the start of the tournament.
All of that as well as the mini-auction dynamics makes it an unmissable event for hard-core cricket lovers. Catch all the updates LIVE on this blog brought to you by ABP Live.
