IPL Auction 2021: Harbhajan And Kedar Register At 2 Crore, Sachin’s Son Also To Go Under The Hammer

With the IPL Auction set to be held on 18 February, 292 players will go under the hammer for as many as 61 spots across eight teams.

Harbhajan Singh alias Bhajji and Kedar Jadhav are the only two Indian players to have registered at the minimum base price of 2 crore in the IPL Auction 2021. A BCCI press release confirmed this news on Thursday. The release read: “The VIVO IPL 2021 Player Auction list is out with a total of 292 cricketers set to go under the hammer in Chennai on February 18th, 2021. 1114 cricketers had initially registered for the auction. The final list was then pruned after the eight franchises submitted their shortlist of players.”

With Bhajji and Jadhav being the only two Indian players in the category of 2 crore rupees, eight overseas players including, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Moeen Ali, Shakib Al Hasan, Mark Wood, Jason Roy, Sam Billings & Liam Plunkett have chosen to be in this bracket of 2 crore rupees.

12 other players have chosen to be in the bracket of minimum 1.5 crore rupees. These twelve names include - Alex Carey, Alex Hales, Morne Morkel, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Gregory Lewis, Shaun Marsh, Adil Rashid, David Willey, Tom Curran, Jhye Richardson, Dawid Malan and Nathan Coulter-Nile. While Hanma Vihari and Umesh Yadav are two Indian players with a base price of 1 crore rupees. “A total of 164 Indian players, 125 overseas players and 3 players from Associate Nations will be up for grabs in the VIVO IPL 2021 Player Auction in Chennai,” the BCCI press note read.

With all these players in the fray, people and especially Sachin Tendulkar fans would be waiting for Arjun Tendulkar to go under the hammer, who has also registered in the VIVO IPL 2021 in the 20 lakh base-price category.
