IPL 2024: Abhishek Sharma Slams Fastest Fifty By Sunrisers Hyderabad Batter

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) star batter Abhishek Sharma scored a fiery half-century off just 16 deliveries, just minutes after his teammate Travis Head attained the fastest fifth for SRH and of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 during Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vs Mumbai Indians (MI) Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match in Hyderabad on Wednesday (March 27).

Head, who came out to bat before Sharma, scored a half-century off just 18 deliveries against Mumbai Indians (MI).

By the virtue of his fifty, Abhishek Sharma surpassed Travis Head (18 deliveries) and David Warner's record for fastest fifty for SRH in Indian Premier League (IPL).

The seasoned Aussie opener notched up a half century off just 20 deliveries against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2015 season.

Travis Head single-handedly 'destroyed' Mumbai Indians bowlers in the Powerplay. The SRH star scored 62 runs off just 24 deliveries, featuring 9 fours and 3 sixes, in his power-packed innings. Notably, Head received his maiden cap for Sunrisers Hyderabad, today.

Hardik Pandya-captained Mumbai Indians (MI) invited Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to bat first, after winning the toss. Both Mumbai and Hyderabad have played one match each in IPL 2024 and are yet to secure their first win in the ongoing tournament.

Mumbai Indians, in their opening encounter, suffered a six-run loss to the Gujarat Titans (GT). Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost against Kolkata Knight Riders by 4 runs.
