IPL 2024: RCB Bowlers Guide The Side To 47-Run Victory Over DC, Keep Playoffs Hopes Alive

IPL 2024: RCB are on a roll and defeated DC in thumping style. Here are the details from the epic fixture.

IPL 2024: Royal Challengers Bengaluru keep their hopes for a spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs alive, as they have registered a resounding 47-run victory over Delhi Capitals on Sunday. The victory has now lifted the side onto 12 points, and Faf Du Plessis' side have now 5 matches in a row, and stand a good chance of qualifying for the playoffs, with their last fixture being against the reigning IPL champions, Chennai Super Kings, who managed to win their fixture against Rajasthan Royals earlier in the day.

Both RCB and CSK have played 13 matches this season now, but CSK have recorded 14 points, whereas, RCB have 12 points. Coming to the Net Run Rate (NRR), the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side are ahead of Faf Du Plessis's side and RCB need to win big against the former, inorder to stand a chance of qualification. The win over CSK won't guarantee them the qualification as Lucknow Super Giants are still in contention of securing 16 points, and if they win their remaining two fixtures, the road to playoffs will be over for RCB.

Today's fixture saw a masterclass from Rajat Patidar and RCB bowlers, as RCB managed to reach the score of 187 thanks to Rajat Patidar's half-century, but it was their bowling that changed the entire complexion of the match, with the likes of Yash Dayal, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammad Siraj ripping apart the batting lineup of DC, before a late surge from Axar Patel placed DC at a respectable total, as they lost the match by 47 runs.

Here's What Cameron Green Said In Post Match Presentation Ceremony

Cameron Green was awarded the Man of the Match award for his excellent all-round performance and said the following:

"Yes, a great game for our team. Unfortunately, it was a bit late, but we are still in the hunt and that's important. It was a concern not getting 200. We took early wickets and pitch was not easy. We got lucky and then assessed the conditions and did well. We identified that pace on the ball works for the batters. Pace off works for us and thankfully there was no dew. Spent a lot of times to get adjusted to the conditions. Last year was a road, and this year it has something in it for the bowlers and that is good. Short ground and bowlers need help. Glad about it. Thank You," said the Australian.
