After the first 10 overs, KKR were 70/4 with half their batsmen back in the hut. Umran Malik, T Natarajan, and Marco Jansen were the pick of the bowlers at the beginning of the KKR innings.
In the second half of the KKR innings, Nitish Rana and Andre Russell helped Kolkata reach 175 in their 20 overs. Natarajan picked three wickets while Umran Malik took two wickets.
When SRH came into bat, they had a poor start in the powerplay overs. Abhishek Sharma, the hero of the previous match got out for 3 in 10 balls. The score at the end of the powerplay was 46/2. Tripathi and Markram stitched a partnership of 94 runs for the third wicket. After losing Tripathi, Markram finished the job with Pooran alongside.
