Shah Rukh Khan, the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was full of praise for the Australian captain Pat Cummins, who scored the all-time joint-fastest fifty of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to kill Mumbai Indians' chances in the Match-14 of IPL 2022.
Tagging Pat Cummins, SRK wrote: "I want to dance like Andre & hug u like the whole team did. Wow well done @KKRiders and what else is there to say!!!…’PAT’ DIYE CHAKKE!!!"
The joy of Shah Rukh Khan is not unprecedented as at one point, KKR looked down and out in the match, especially after losing their key man Andre Russell at 101-5 in 13 overs while chasing 162 runs. Well, Pat Cummins had other plans as he completed the target in just 16 overs after hitting the joint-fastest half-century in IPL history.
With three wins in four matches, KKR has secured the top position, while the Mumbai Indians lag behind at the ninth spot.
This is Mumbai Indians' third loss in a row. Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and opted to bowl first. KKR pace bowler Umesh Yadav justified his skipper Shreyas Iyer's decision by getting an early breakthrough to dismiss skipper Rohit Sharma for just three runs in the 3rd over.
