New Delhi: The joint fastest-fifty in Indian Premier League (IPL) history from Pat Cummins (15-ball 56) and a hard-fought half-century from Venkatesh Iyer (41-ball 50) powered Kolkata Knight Riders to a five-wicket win over Mumbai Indians at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium on Wednesday. Kolkata, tonight, handed Mumbai their third loss in a row. Cummins, after scoring his fifty off just 14 deliveries, equaled KL Rahul's record for the fastest fifty in IPL history.

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and opted to bowl first. KKR pace bowler Umesh Yadav justified his skipper Shreyas Iyer's decision by getting an early breakthrough to dismiss skipper Rohit Sharma for just three runs in the 3rd over.

Mumbai bowlers made sure that Kolkata batters struggled against them and didn't get the momentum to post a big total. As KKR's top-order collapsed, Surakumar Yadav notched up a quick fifty off 32 balls. He, along with Tilak Varma also stitched an important 83-run stand to help their team post a respectable three-figure total.

In the last over of the first innings, Pollard batted aggressively to take Mumbai's total to 161/4.
