IPL 2021: 'Warner Dropped To Give Youngsters A Chance', Says SRH Head Coach Trevor Bayliss

Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Trevor Bayliss has told that David Warner has been dropped from the team to give opportunities to young players.

New Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Trevor Bayliss said that David Warner, who was struggling with poor form, had been excluded from the team during the match against Rajasthan Royals in order to give young team players a chance to exhibit their talent.

Sunrisers have already been eliminated from the playoff race. Sunrisers beat Royals by seven wickets with opener Jason Roy and skipper Kane Williamson scoring half-centuries.

"If we could not go to the next round, we decided to give opportunities to young players to gain the experience," Bayliss told this in a press conference after the match.

He said, "There are many young players in the team who did not even get a chance to play on the field but deserved it. We would continue to provide opportunities to them in all upcoming matches. Warner saw the match in the hotel and also cheered the team. We are all in this together."

Asked whether Warner's days with Sunrisers were over, Bayliss said, "Nothing has been talked about. Warner has given a lot to the team for so many years and everyone respects him. I am sure he will score more runs in IPL." Sunrisers would be facing Chennai Super Kings on September 30.

Sunrisers Hyderabad is at the bottom of the table, i.e. at the Eighth position with 4 points from 10 matches. The team has won two matches so far while losing eight matches.
