IPL 2021: The second part of Indian Premier League Season 14 is going to be held in UAE. The Delhi Capitals team will leave for UAE on Saturday. Delhi Capitals, however, are yet to decide on the captain of the team. It might be made clear after arriving in the UAE whether Rishabh Pant will be in command of the team or Shreyas Iyer will be made captain of the team again.
The Delhi franchise's domestic players and paramedics gathered in the capital earlier this week, and all of them were tested negative for Covid-19. Now they are all set to leave the country. A DC official said, "Delhi Capitals will leave for UAE on Saturday morning with domestic players and staff. The home players are already in quarantine in the national capital and will be quarantined in UAE for a week later.''
The Delhi Capitals team is confident of its foreign players. When asked about international players, the official said, "International players will come after fulfilling their international commitments. Shreyas Iyer is already in UAE.''
No decision on the captaincy
According to the information that has emerged, Delhi Capitals have not decided on the captain. Shreyas Iyer was out of the first part of IPL 14 due to injury. In his absence, Rishabh Pant was made captain of the Delhi Capitals. But after Shreyas Iyer's return, the captaincy is yet to be decided.
The two most successful IPL teams - Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings - had arrived in the Gulf country earlier this week. This brightest T20 cricket mega-sporting spectacle of the world will resume in Dubai on September 19.
