New Delhi: Ahead of the start of much-awaited IPL 2021 Phase 2, Delhi Capitals star player Shreyas Iyer resumed training and was spotted hitting some scintillating strokes during a practice match at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai.

Iyer uploaded some videos of his batting via Instagram story and the message was loud and clear that the 26-year-old is all set to make a spectacular comeback from injury. In one clip, Iyer hammers the ball for a huge six towards the straight long-on.

In the last year's IPL, Shreyas Iyer captained Delhi Capitals. Unfortunately, he suffered a shoulder injury ahead of IPL 2021 and eventually missed the first leg of the tournament, which was played in India during April and May.

In the absence of an injured Shreyas Iyer, wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was named the captain of franchise. Fortunately, Pant played the captain's role well and ensured his team secured the top spot in the IPL 14 points table in the first leg of the tournament. From eight games so far, Delhi Capitals currently have 12 points.

Finally, when Iyer returns in the Delhi squad for IPL 2021 Phase 2, the team management will have a tough time in deciding who should be handed over the captaincy duty between Pant and Iyer.

IPL 2021 Phase 2 will resume from September 19 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).  IPL 2021 Phase 2 final will be played on October 15.  IPL 14 Phase 2 1st match will be played between heavyweights Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in Dubai. Delhi Capitals will play their first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Dubai on September22.
