IPL 2021, CSK Vs SRH: Chennai Super Kings Win By 7 Wickets, David Warner Takes Responsibility Of The Defeat

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) did not look like losing the match even for a minute since the ball one was bowled today.

IPL 2021, CSK vs SRH: If anyone wants to know the meaning of clinical, watch the performance by Chennai Super Kings against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 23 of IPL. A century plus partnership by Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf Du Plesis and finishing touches by the middle order made the target of 172 look very little. Eventually CSK defeated SRH by 7 wickets with more than one over to spare.

Troubles increase for Sunrisers Hyderabad as they lose the fifth match of this year’s IPL. David Warner looked utterly disappointed after the match and blamed himself for the loss. He said, “I take full responsibility for the way I batted, it was really slow, found a lot of fielders and I got frustrated. The way Manish batted was exceptional. Kane got us to a respectable total, but I take full responsibility as it was a total below par.”

Earlier in the match, SRH won the toss and decided to bat first. David Warner started very slowly. He played an innings of 57 in 55 balls. Later, Kane Williamson and Kedar Jadhav applied some finishing touches to take the score to a respectable 171. Manish Pandey played a good innings of 61 in 46 balls.

But all of it went to vain as CSK never looked like losing the match. Gaikwad, who also won the Man of the Match and Faf du Plesis scored 75 and 56 runs respectively. Match was ended by Raina and Jadeja.

MS Dhoni: The batting was superb. But that doesn't mean the bowling was not good. It was a surprisingly good wicket. Whenever we come to Delhi we never expect a wicket like this. Keeping the dressing room atmosphere healthy is important. It's not an easy thing. When you're at the top level you want to play. Have to give extra credit to the players who've not played so far.

David Warner: The way Manish batted was exceptional. Kane got us to a respectable total, but I take full responsibility as it was a total below par. I probably hit 15 good shots to the fielders, I couldn't do much about it. They are the ones that make or break your innings. It gets frustrating as a batsman when you find the fielders.
