IPL 2020, DC vs KXIP: Major Setback For Delhi Capitals Ahead Of Match, Veteran Player Suffers Injury

IPL 2020 | Ishant Sharma Gets Injured: According to a report, the fast bowler got injured during the practice session ahead of the match.

Veteran Ishant Sharma, the main fast bowler of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals, has been injured and will most likely not play in the DC's IPL opening game against KXIP. The second match of the 13th season of IPL 2020 is slated to be played between Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. According to the report, Ishant has suffered a back injury. The speedster has been injured many times before in his career. Ishant suffered an ankle injury earlier this year, in January. A month later, he returned back to action during the Test series against New Zealand, but he got injured again and this time, he suffered an ankle injury.
Apart from Ishant Sharma in Delhi Capitals, Harshal Patel, Mohit Sharma and Avesh Khan are the other Indian fast bowlers. In Ishant's absence, one of these three can get a chance to play.
Both Delhi Capital (DC) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) have not been able to win the IPL title even once. This time, both teams will be eyeing to win their maiden IPL trophy. So far, both the teams have played 24 matches against each other in the IPL, out of which Punjab has won 14 times, while Delhi has won 10 times.
