The wicketkeeper-batter was dealing with a knee injury last season but did not miss a game. He, however, underwent a surgery in Mumbai immediately after the conclusion of the cash-rich league and has since then recovered well and seems fit for the 2024 season. He was seen during a net session endorsing 'Prime Sports', a shop which his childhood friend Paramjit Singh owns in Ranchi and even gifted him a signed bat.
It would be interesting to see if he plays with the same bat in the IPL 2024 in what could he his final season in the T20 tournament.
