IPL 2023 Auction Likely To Be Held In December: Report
Many big trades are likely to happen ahead of IPL 2023, in which players like Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill are likely to be traded by their respective franchises.
IPL 2023 auction update: The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India will be holding the auction for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 in the second or third week of December this year, Cricbuzz reported. This will be a mini auction, the venue of which has not been decided yet and most likely, December 16 is the date which has been finalized for IPL 2023 mini-auction. Earlier, there was a mega auction for IPL 2022, but this year the auction for the 16th season for IPL will be a simple one, basically a mini-auction.
The purse of each team for IPL 2023 auction will be INR 95 crore, previously it was INR 90 crores. If a player leaves or a franchise trades a player, then accordingly the amount in the team's purse will increase. The team's purse has increased INR 5 crore more than last year, so it has to be seen how the teams spend this time in the mini IPL.
Many big trades are likely to happen ahead of IPL 2023, in which players like Ravindra Jadeja of Chennai Super Kings, Shubman Gill of Gujarat Titans are likely to be traded by their respective franchises.
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has already announced that IPL 2023 will be played in its old style, the regular home-away format. This means, IPL 2023 matches will be held in India and also on foreign soil. Possibly, matches will be played across 10 locations in IPL 2023.
IPL 2023 is expected to be special in many ways. It is believed that IPL 2023 will be Mahendra Singh Dhoni's last IPL edition with Chennai Super Kings. Apart from this, the much-awaited women's IPL will likely get underway in early January, next year. BCCI is very much busy preparing for all these big events.
