Ind vs SL | Punjab's Mohali Cricket Stadium To Host Virat Kohli's Historic 100th Test Match: Report
There has been a change in the schedule of the series between India and Sri Lanka and hence there has been a change in the venue of Virat's 100th Test match.
New Delhi: Ex-Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli won't be able to play his career's historic 100th Test match at his favorite M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Chinnaswamy Stadium is the home ground of Virat Kohli's IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and it was believed that he would achieve the big milestone of his career at this ground.
However, as per the latest development, Kohli will now play his career's 100th Test match at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium in Mohali, and not in Bengaluru.
According to the report of Cricbuzz, there has been a change in the schedule of the series between India and Sri Lanka and hence there has been a change in the venue of Virat's 100th Test match.
Sri Lanka has to play two Test and three match T20 series on India tour. As per the new schedule, the visiting team will now start the India tour with the first T20 match in Lucknow.
The first match of the T20 series will be played on February 24. The second match will be held on 26th February and the third T20I match will be held at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala.
According to the report, after the T20 series, both the teams will leave for Mohali, where the first Test match of the two-match Test series will be played from March 3 to 7 at the PCA Stadium.
This match will be the 100th Test match of former Indian captain Virat Kohli's career. The second match of the Test series will be played in Karnataka's Bengaluru from March 12 to 16.
However, it is not yet decided whether Ind vs SL 2nd Test will be a Day-Night Test or not because neither the team management nor the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has given any official information about this yet.
Also, in what comes as a major development, star opener Rohit Sharma is set to be named India's new Test captain ahead of Sri Lanka's tour of India.
