Kevin Pietersen's Unique Suggestion For Annual India Vs Pakistan T20 Series

Kevin Pietersen not only suggested how the matches between both the teams should be organised but also revealed how much prize money the winner should get.

New Delhi: Pakistan on Sunday scripted history by defeating India for the first time in the T20 World Cup. After this match, former England captain Kevin Pietersen has advocated for more and more T20 matches between India and Pakistan. Pietersen believes that both nations should play at least three T20 matches in a year and all these T20 games should be played at a neutral venue.

Kevin Pietersen not only suggested how the matches between both the teams should be organised but also revealed how much prize money the winner should get. The last bilateral series between India and Pakistan was played in December 2012. After that both the teams play only in ICC tournaments and Asia Cup due to political tensions.

Pietersen tweeted, 'Indian team should play at least three T20 matches against Pakistan every year at neutral venues within five days. There should be a team of 15 players and a reward of $ 15M (about Rs 112 crore) should be given on winning.  If it happens then everyone will wait for it every year."

India's 12-0 unbeaten World Cup streak against Pakistan was broken in Dubai on Sunday.  Pakistan attained a 10-wicket win over Virat Kohli & Co. in their opening T20 World Cup 2021 match on the back of impressive performances from only three of their players - Shaheen Shah Afridi, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.

It was for the first time in the history of T20 cricket that India lost by 10 wickets against any opponent in a T20I game, while Pakistan for the first-time ever in T20 cricket won a match by 10 wickets. Speedster Shaheen Afridi made one of the hottest World Cup debuts as he rocked India's top order by departing India's three star batters for just 31 runs.
