IND vs PAK | 'Mujhe Ye Ladka Bada Pasand Hai': Wasim Akram Names His Favorite India Player

Former Pakistan pace bowler Wasim Akram praised 28-year-old Hardik Pandya and described him as his favorite Indian cricketer at present.

India vs Pakistan Super 4 Asia Cup 2022: India and Pakistan are all set to lock horns for the second time in the Asia Cup 2022. After their group stage match, now both the teams will face each other in the Super 4 clash today. A match was played between the two teams in the group stage, which India won by 5 wickets. India defeated Pakistan on the back of a solid all-round performance from Hardik Pandya who played match-winning innings of unbeaten 33 after taking three wickets in that match.

Ahead of India v Pakistan Super 4 match, former Pakistan pace bowler Wasim Akram praised 28-year-old Hardik Pandya for his heroics. Akram, regarded as one of the most lethal swing bowlers of all time, named Hardik Pandya as his favorite Indian cricketer at present.

“Mujhe ye ladka bada pasand hai (I like Hardik Pandya a lot), especially in the T20I format. Because he is a proper all-rounder. Like Pakistan have Shadab Khan. Talking about Hardik, he has pace (clocks 140 kmph) and he is also an electrifying fielder. When it comes to his batting, he is fearless. I hope I am wrong, but Pakistan need to get out of a losing mindset. Maybe it is because of us as we make memes on social media. That's not fair,” Wasim told Cricket Pakistan.

The former fast bowler said he hopes Pakistan will take a lesson from their previous defeat and also requested the players to play freely like India.

“Being a Pakistan, I want Pakistan to win but Team India is coming to the match after a win. Team India is high on confidence after their recent successes. They also have Ravindra Jadeja injured, he has returned home. Axar Patel has replaced him. Jadeja was the main player of the Indian team. He and Pandya won the match for India last time. India also promoted Jadeja at the time. That's why Pakistan need to take a few risks while playing T20I cricket,” Akram added.
