India Skipper Rohit Sharma's 'Big Statement' Ahead Of Ind vs Pak Asia Cup 2022 Clash

India captain Rohit Sharma has given a big statement ahead of the blockbuster Ind vs Pak Asia Cup 2022 clash in the United Arab Emirates.

India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2022: There is now just a week left for the high-octane Asia Cup 2022 tournament, set to begin in the UAE. Cricket lovers all over the world eagerly await the Asia Cup match between arch-rivals of world cricket – India and Pakistan.  Both the teams will take on each other on August 28 at the Dubai International Stadium. The last time both the teams clashed, India had to face a humiliating defeat by 10 wickets in the T20 World Cup 2021 against Pakistan on this ground.

Ahead of the blockbuster Ind vs Pak Asia Cup 2022 clash in the United Arab Emirates, India captain Rohit Sharma has given a big statement about the match. In an exclusive Star Sports, Rohit acknowledged it as a "high-pressure game" but revealed that he and coach Rahul Dravid are constantly explaining to the players that it is just one match.

Rohit, who has taken over the captaincy of the team since the T20 World Cup 2021, said, "Everyone watches the match especially India vs Pakistan. It is undoubtedly a high-pressure game, but within the team, we want to create a normal atmosphere and this match will be played. Don't want to give space inside. For us, it is just a cricket match. For me and Rahul (Dravid) bhai it is important to tell the players that this is just another team."

Indian cricket team, the defending champions, has won the Asia Cup trophy seven times and that's why the morale of the team will be very high. Talking about India vs Pakistan record in Asia Cup, India holds the lead against Pakistan in the tournament. Both the teams have clashed against one another 14 times, with India defeating Pakistan eight times. Five of those wins have come in the last six matches. The last time India lost against Pakistan in the Asia Cup was in 2014 at Mirpur.
