New Delhi: Virat Kohli-led team India failed to get off with a winning start to kick-off their World Cup campaign as they had to face a crushing 10-wicket loss against Pakistan. Tonight, the Men in Blue will aim to register their first win in the ongoing tournament when they take on heavyweights New Zealand at Dubai International cricket stadium on Sunday. Team India, in order to keep themselves alive and intact in the race for the T20 World Cup semi-finals, will aim to register a win against the Kiwis at any cost.
Meanwhile, Wasim Jaffer took to Twitter to post a hilarious tweet and take a funny jibe at umpire Richard Kettleborough, who will be officiating the India vs New Zealand match tonight.
Interestingly, since the year 2014, India have never won a match in the ICC tournaments in which Kettleborough has been the umpire. On the occasion of Halloween, Wasim Jaffer posted a meme - a picture of two kids crying - which possibly indicated that the Indian might witness another heart-breaking loss tonight. “Happy Halloween Indian Fans #INDvNZ #T20WorldCup,” he tweeted.
Richard Kettleborough was the umpire when Australia beat India in the 2015 ODI World Cup semi-final, when India lost against West Indies in the 2016 T20 World Cup semi-finals, 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.
Kettleborough was also officiating the 2019 ODI World Cup semi-final in which New Zealand knocked out India. In today's must-win match for India, Kettleborough will again be the umpire. He surely can't be held responsible for any of India's losses. Lets just say that he isn't very lucky for the Indian cricket team.
