New Delhi: The cute and bubbly young Poo in Karan Johar's 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' is all grown-up now and ready to make her mark in Bollywood as an adult. Malvika Raaj is setting foot in the industry with 'Squad' as her first Hindi film in the lead role, which will stream on Zee5. She has previously featured in a couple of singles and a Telugu film titled Jayadev.
The young actor disappeared from the silver-screen after her role as young Kareena in the multi-starrer movie 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham'. In an interview that she did a couple of years ago, she revealed the reason. "After 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', since I was a very young and naughty child.....My dad did not want me to pursue acting anymore as it would distract me from studies. Even as a child actor, I got many proposals, but my dad did not allow me to act," she told IANS.
On being asked if her father now agrees to her choice of getting into the field of acting, Malvika said, "He is okay with it, he just wanted me to have my degree and then pursue my acting work."
The excited actor shared the poster of her film on her Instagram account. In the poster, Malvika can be seen all geared up as a commando with actor Danny Denzongpa's son Rinzing Denzongpa in the centre. 'Squad' marks the debut of the veteran actor's son.
Malvika captioned the picture as, "Is baar ladai desh ke liye mahi, desh ki beti ke liye hai. India fights for its greatest pride." (This time the fight is not for the country but for its daughter.) She even informed that Squad's trailer will drop on Monday. Here's the poster of the film:
