Ind vs NZ, 1st Test: Latham, Young Score Fifties To Put Kiwis On Top At Stumps On Day 2

At Stumps on Day 2, New Zealand had managed to put 129 runs on scoreboard without losing any wicket and trail India by 216 runs.

New Delhi: After Tim Southee starred with the ball with a remarkable five-wicket haul to get hosts all out for 345, Kiwi openers Will Young (75*) and Tom Latham (50*) scored an unbeaten 129-run stand to power New Zealand to 129/0 at Stumps of day 2 of Ind vs NZ 1st Test at Kanpur's Green Park Stadium on Friday. NZ openers today ensured their side didn't lose even a single wicket as they batted confidently for 57 overs against a highly lethal Indian attack. 

At Stumps on Day 2, New Zealand had managed to put 129 runs on scoreboard without losing any wicket and trail India by 216 runs.

For the first time since 2017 on Indian soil against India, a team has made a century opening partnership. Earlier, England's Alastair Cook and Keaton Jennings had scored a century opening partnership against India on their home soil.

Earlier, for New Zealand, medium pacer Tim Southee took five wickets while bowling amazingly. The Indian team completely surrendered to the Kiwi bowlers on the second day. India had scored 258/4 on the first day, and on Day 2 got all out after scoring 87 runs. Young debutant Shreyas Iyer raced to his century today as India posted 345 runs in their 1st innings.

Tim Southee's big feat

New Zealand's Tim Southee bagged five or more wickets in an innings for the 13th time in Test cricket. He attained this feat for third time against India. Apart from Southee, Kyle Jamieson took three and Ajaz Patel took two wickets on Day 2.
