India's Tour Of England: ECB Allows Players To Be Accompanied By Their Families

Both Men's and Women's teams are under strict 14-day quarantine in a Mumbai hotel. Reportedly, even family members of many squad members are in quarantine with them. Indian contingent will travel to the UK, tomorrow, on June 2.

England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) on Monday managed to get the required clearances for the families of team India players from the UK Government, Insidesport.co reported. This means, Indian cricket team travelling to UK on June 2 can now be accompanied by their families and same quarantine rules will apply to them as well.

“As per the bio-safety protocols established for the event, in line with UK government and Public Health England requirements, the Indian Men’s team will arrive in the UK on 3 June 2021 via a charter flight and carrying evidence of a negative PCR Test,” the ICC said in a media release on May 29.

“Prior to travelling, the party will have spent 14 days in a bio-secure environment in India during which regular testing will have taken place. Upon landing, they will proceed directly to the on-site hotel at the Hampshire Bowl where they will be tested again before commencing a period of managed isolation,” it added.

The women's team will travel to Bristol for the one-off Test against England, while the Men's team will remain in Southampton for India vs New Zealand World Test Championship Final on June 18.  

New Zealand team has already reached England as they have to play a two-match Test series against England from June 2.
