The star footballer is urging people to take safety precautions to avoid the dreaded infection. With the number Coronavirus patients constantly increasing in the country, social media is playing an important role to help Covid-19 affected citizens.
In a heart-warming gesture, Sunil Chhetri, who has over 1.6 million followers on Twitter, decided to hand over his official handle to 'real-life heroes' so that more and more people can amplify support messages and reach wider audiences to help COVID-19 patients across the country. The 36-year-old himself informed this via his official Twitter handle.

"Hey, everyone. As promised, I'll be handing my Twitter account to some of the real-life heroes over the coming weeks, to try and help them get their messages of support and relief to a wider audience," Chhetri said in a tweet.
"The first takeover will be by @prajwalmanipal, who is a journalist with @thenewsminute in Bengaluru, and is doing some phenomenal work on the ground to aid with verified resources and leads in what are difficult times for all of us," Chhetri tweeted today.
In March last month, Sunil Chhetri, who plays for Bengaluru FC franchise in the Indian Super League (ISL), tested positive for Coronavirus. However, he soon recovered. But seeing the tireless efforts and dedication of Corona Warriors, he pledged to contribute on his behalf and decided to hand over his social media account to Corona Warriors who are working 24x7 to help COVID-19 patients.
