India Cricketers Relive 2011 World Cup Win On Social Media

Some players who were part of that 2011 World Cup-winning team, took to Twitter to talk about the historic occasion

New Delhi: It was today on April 2nd in the year 2011 when skipper MS Dhoni 'finished off in style' with a six to help team India lift the World Cup trophy for the second time. Chasing a 275-run target for India, it was opener Gautam Gambhir and finisher M.S. Dhoni's heroic knocks that powered the home side to a six-wicket win with just 10 balls remaining. While many players from the 2011 World Cup-winning team have retired, current skipper Virat Kohli is the only player who remains a regular in the Indian cricket team. Some players who were part of that World Cup-winning team, took to Twitter to talk about the historic occasion. "World Cup winner 2011.what a great day it was for Whole India .proud moment (sic.)" said spinner Harbhajan Singh and tagged his team member of that team and then coach Gary Kirsten too, in his post. "Words will never be able to describe what a moment for every Indian it was , this it what we live for !!jai Hind(sic.)" said 2011 World Cup player of the tournament Yuvraj Singh. Suresh Raina said: "Things end but memories last forever. Remembering the rush, excitement, thrill of it all, of the fantastic moments leading up to us lifting the world cup. Irreplaceable. Unforgettable. Thankful to have been a part of this iconic moment in the history of cricket. #worldcup2011 (sic.)" Sreesanth said: "TODAY, IN 2011, THE 28-YEAR-OLD WAIT COME TO AN END #ThisDayThatYear #IndianWonWorldCupCricket #SreesanthThePrideOfIndia India lift the world cup after 28 years!
