Hungarian Grand Prix Race Results: Verstappen Claims Victory, Perez Secures Podium; Hamilton Settles For Fourth

Hungarian Grand Prix 2023: Max Verstappen secured his seventh consecutive victory. On the other hand, despite starting from pole position, Lewis Hamilton settled for fourth place.

In a remarkable display of dominance, Max Verstappen secured his seventh consecutive victory at the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix, handing, Red Bull it’s twelfth consecutive win of the season. Continuing his strong form, Lando Norris secured a second-place finish after his previous podium at Silverstone, while Sergio Perez displayed resilience to recover and claim the third spot on the podium after starting P9. This historic win for Red Bull allowed them to break the record of McLaren for highest consecutive wins in a season. McLaren previously had 11 wins in the season. 

Despite starting from pole position, Lewis Hamilton faced challenges and settled for fourth place, edging out the second McLaren driver Oscar Piastri in the intense battle for positions. The race witnessed thrilling performances from the top contenders, making it a memorable event for Formula 1 fans worldwide.

Norris' Australian teammate Oscar Piastri finished P5, missing out on a maiden podium chance while Hamilton's Mercedes teammate, fellow British driver George Russell made a remarkable recovery drive after finishing P6 after starting from eighteenth.



The Ferrari of Charles Leclerc finished P7 after a slow pitstop and a 5-second penalty. His teammate Carlos Sainz finished P8.
Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso finished P9 and rounding up the final points tally was his teammate Lance Stroll. 

Thai-British driver Alexander Albon finished P11 for Williams while his American rookie teammate Logan Sargeant struggled in 18th.
Alfa Romeo's Valtteri Bottas finished P12 after a bad start while his teammate Gauyna Zhou served a 5-second penalty for causing a collusion with Daniel Ricciardo and both the Alpines. The Chinese driver finished P16.

Returning to the grid mid-season, Daniel Ricciardo was trying to make a statement while driving for AlphaTuari but he finished P13 due the already mentioned collusion caused by Zhou. The Aussie’s teammate Yuki Tsunoda did not fair any better with him finishing P15.

Hass driver Nico Hulkenberg, who was sporting bleached hair like Ken from the Barbie movie, failed to build on his qualifying pace with the German finishing P14. His teammate Kevin Magnussen finished in P17 after struggling whole weekend.

The French duo at Alpine, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly, crashed into each other and had to retire due to damage. Zhou punted Ricciardo and Ricciardo smashed into the Alpines. This happens to be their side's second double DNF after the 2023 Silverstone Grand Prix.
