The sixth day of the World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand on Wednesday is ongoing. India dominated play on Day 5, but NZ came back strong with 8 wickets. NZ only require 139 runs to win the Test match and win the World Test Championship (WTC Final). But what happens in the case of a draw? What happens if NZ fails to chase the score and India also do not pick up the 10 wickets?

What happens if India vs New Zealand WTC Finals ends in a draw or a tie?

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has already made it clear that if the WTC Final ends in a draw or a tie, then both the teams will be declared joint winners.

If the WTC final gets washed out by rain and ends without any result, then both India and New Zealand teams will be declared joint winners. The winning prize money will be divided equally between both the teams. 12 lakh dollars (INR 8.78 crore) each, will be given to both India and New Zealand.
