Former Indian opener and UP sports minister Chetan Chauhan tested positive for coronavirus and has been admitted to Lucknow hospital.
Chauhan was tested on Friday after showing mild symptoms and the report was received Saturday afternoon following which he was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi PGI hospital in Lucknow.

Reports of Chauhan's family members are still awaited and they have been put under home quarantine for now. Chauhan holds the Sainik Welfare, Home Guards, PRD, and Civil Security ministry in the UP cabinet.

After the news of Chetan Chauhan testing positive for the virus broke out, wishes poured in from the Cricket Fraternity for his speedy recovery. Chauhan, a former Lok Sabha MP, is one of the few former international cricketers who have contracted the virus.

Chauhan played 40 tests and 7 ODI for India forming a solid opening partnership with Sunil Gavaskar and was also the vice president of the DDCA for 13 years while also being an MP before his latest stint as a minister in UP government.
