Spanish Full-Back Duo Of FC Barcelona To Leave The Club At The End Of The Season: Report

FC Barcelona will reportedly see two key departures in their defensive area. Here are the details.

FC Barcelona captain Sergi Roberto and full-back, Marcos Alonso are set to leave the club as free agents in the summer transfer window of 2024, as reported by Italian transfer guru and football journalist, Fabrizio Romano. Sergi Roberto and Marcos Alonso have find it tough this season to find some valuable game time, but have put in decent performances whenever the club needed their services.

Sergi Roberto is a club legend and is most popularly known for his legendary goal in the 'La Remontada', when FC Barcelona made the greatest comeback ever in the history of the UEFA Champions League, and arguanly, the greatest comeback ever in the history of football, with a 6-1 win at home in the second leg, after losing 4-0 away in the first leg.

Marcos Alonso, on the other hand, joined the Blaugrana in 2022 from Premier League outfit Chelsea, and has managed merely 44 appearances across two seasons, as the Spaniard has endured an injury-prone career, which marred his potential to a greater extent.
