After the passing away of legendary footballer Pele in December last year, it has now been reported that his widow is set to receive 30 per cent of his assets. In another major update, the deceased footballer's will reportedly names a woman who could be his unrecognised daughter.

Both the claims have been made in a report carried by the news agency AFP who talked to the widow's lawyer. As stated in this report, Pele's third and last wife Marcia Cibele Aoki will get the mansion in Guaruja where the couple used to live, less than 100 kilometres away from Sau Paulo.

Luiz Kignel, Aoki's lawyer, meanwhile has also said that among other assets of Pele are more real estate but a complete list detailing what all he has left behind has not yet been made.

However, it is pertinent to note that the remaining 70 per cent of his property will be left to his children. He may also an unrecognised daughter who then will get a share of this fortune, as per this AFP report.

"He indicated the possibility of the existence of another daughter, whose recognition will depend on a DNA test, which could not be carried out (on Pele) due to the pandemic and the state of his health," Kignel told AFP.

The three-time FIFA World Cup-winning legendary Brazilian football breathed his last on December 29 last year after losing a long battle to cancer. He was also suffering from kidney and heart ailments and had been hospitalised since November 2023.

A warm tribute was paid to him at the FIFA Best Award 2022 which was announced in February. Marcia Aoki was also invited and gave a speech at this ceremony in Paris. The Best Men's Player Prize was given to Lionel Messi who led Argentina to victory at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar while Alexia Putellas got the FIFA Best Women's Player recognition.
