Mohamed Salah, Star Striker, Agrees To A Shock Move To Saudi Club Al-Ittihad: Report
On Saturday, his goal against Bournemouth took him past the legend Steven Gerrard for the most goals for Liverpool with 187 goals.
Mohamed Salah, Liverpool star footballer has now agreed to join Al-Ittihad on a transfer, as per report by the channel beIN Sports. However, an official announcement is still awaiting from both Liverpool and the Saudi Club. Salah is currently playing for Liverpool and is reportedly getting £350,000 per week. Saudi Club on the other hand is set to pay him more than his current salary. As per reports, Al-Ittihad is ready to pay the 31-year-old footballer more than Al Nasser’s Cristiano Ronaldo, who is getting £175 million a year.
Meanwhile, The Athletic on Thursday stated that Liverpool has said that Salah is “not for sale”.
Mohamed Salah has been the stalwart for Liverpool by becoming the top goal scorer for the club in the past six seasons. On Saturday, his goal against Bournemouth took him past the legend Steven Gerrard for the most goals for Liverpool with 187 goals and he is currently standing at the fifth position on the all-time top goal scorer list for Liverpool.
Ever since he started playing for Liverpool, this is the first time that the Men in Red will not be taking part in the Champions League after a below-average last season where they ended at the fifth spot in the premier league table.
After a lot of negotiations between the club and Salah’s agent, the star footballer signed a new contract last season till the end of the 2024 season which made him the highest-paid player at Liverpool. Talking about Liverpool, the club has lost two of their legendary players Jordan Henderson and Fabinho as both went to compete in the Saudi League. Liverpool then struggled to find players to fill in the voids left by the two-star players.
If at all Liverpool loses Salah then it will get tough for them to compete ahead.
