Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is all set to miss the Team's Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest on Saturday due to an injury. Meanwhile, an official release from the Red Devils claims that the England star is likely to be sidelined until the international break next month. The 24-year-old was part of the Starting XI of the Erik Ten Hag-managed club but picked up an injury in the team's 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in what was an away fixture.

The news could mean further trouble for the Premier League giants with the manager's options being even more limited. While Fenernahce, the team's other midfield option, had left for Fenerbahce in the summer transfer window, Kobbie Mainoo also remains out with an injury incurred during the team's pre-season tour of the United States.

"Mason Mount is set to miss Saturday's game against Nottingham Forest due to an injury picked up in last weekend's encounter with Tottenham Hotspur. The small complaint is expected to keep Mount out until the international break next month. The England midfielder has started both of our Premier League games so far this season after making his competitive debut for the club in last week's 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford," an official statement from the club read.

The injury essentially means that Mount will also be a doubtful for England's Euro 2024 qualifier against Ukraine on September 9. As far as his personal form is concerned, despite him being handed a start in each of Manchester United's two fixtures so far, he had not made a significant impression. He was replaced by Christian Eriksen after 68 minutes in United's 1-0 win over Wolves in the team's opening day match. He made way for Facundo Pellistri with five minutes remaining on the clock in the match against the Spurs.
