Spurs Beat Man United: Ange Postecoglou's men have made a thumping statement in their conquest for league title this season, as Tottenham Hotspurs have humiliated Manchester United 3-0 at their own fortress, the iconic Old Trafford, on Sunday.
The win now takes Spurs upto 8th and only three points separate them and 4th placed Chelsea, whereas for Manchester United, the Red Devila have now lost 8 of their last 20 Premier League home games.
The visitors never looked like losing or drawing this fixture, as they were excellent on all fronts against a Manchester United side that looked completely out-of-sorts, and the record-Premier League champions have now made their joint-worst start to a league season in the Premier League era.
Manchester United Vs Tottenham Hotspurs Premier League 2024/25 Matchday 6 Fixture HIGHLIGHTS
Tottenham Hotspurs made a flying start to the match, as it took them merely 2 minutes 35 seconds to score the first goal of the game. A bursting run from defender Micky Van de Ven splitted Manchester United's defence and his low-cross was well-met by Brennan Johnson, who tapped-in into an empty net.
The hosts never really looked in control after conceding an early goal and almost conceding a second goal in the 20th minute, but were lucky to survive the scare, as Brennan Johnson's attempt hit the far post.
Things got bad to worse for Red Devils as club captain Bruno Fernandes was sent-off for a poor challenge on James Maddison in the 42nd minute.
At half-time, it was 1-0 in favour of the visitors but it could have easily been 3-0 or 4-0 had Timo Werner produced a better effort in his finishing, as his poor strikes in 1v1 situations helped Manchester United avoid a first-half humiliation.
The second-half got off to a blistering start, as Dejan Kulusevski scored inside 2 minutes via a brilliant chipped finish against Andre Onana.
Manchester United were able to create some good chances for themselves but failed to capitalise on it, and the final goal of the game came via Dominic Solanke in the 77th minute, as Spurs completed a memorable rout of Manchester United at Old Trafford.
