Football's global superstar Lionel Messi is all set to leave Paris Saint-Germain. (PSG). The same has been claimed by several media reports with the Argentina star nearing the end of his two-year contract. In addition, it is being reported that Messi's father Jorge, who doubles up as his agent, has told the club his son wants to end his stint in Ligue 1.

The decision was apparently already conveyed a month ago by Messi's father and a new club is being sought for the 35-year-old months after he led Argentina to a historic FIFA World Cup win in Qatar in December last year.

"Messi will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season. There are no doubts about that anymore," reliable football journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted.

"Behind the scenes, it’s now understood that Leo’s father Jorge communicated the decision to PSG already one month ago due to the project," he added.

“It was the final breaking point,” reported reliable football journalist Fabrizio Romano," his tweet further read.

Messi's future at the club was already in doubt especially in the manner in which he was suspended by the club for two weeks for an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia without taking permission from the PSG management.

During the time he remains on the sidelines, he won't be able to train or practice with the club and even his fees will be docked off for this duration. Meanwhile, there has been talk of his return to FC Barcelona, where he spent the majority of his career. However, no official confirmation regarding the same has come.
