Bundesliga 2023/24: Bayern Munich head coach, Thomas Tuchel, has released a shocking statement, stating that the title race is over and Bayer Leverkusen have all but won the title. The statement was released in the aftermath of a 2-0 loss in the Der Klassiker, as Borussia Dortmund won at the home soil of the Bavarians for the first time since 2014. Goals from Adeyami and Ryerson helped the 'Black and Yellow' beat Bayern Munich and also managed to successfully keep Harry Kane quiet.

“Obviously, yes. After today's game there is no more need to count points. How many is it now? Congratulations to Leverkusen. We are very disappointed because we felt we did not bring the necessary passion to win the game. It was too little from us when it came to the basics," said Thomas Tuchel, in a post-match interview with reporters.

Speaking of the match, the German coach regretted benching star player Jamal Musiala, and stating 'fatigue' as the reason behind benching the young sensation.

"I perceived Jamal [Musiala] to be very, very tired when he came back from the national team. In retrospect, I thought to myself whether it wouldn't have been better to only use him in the last 30 minutes," the German added.

However, what grabbed the headlines alongside the comment from manager, is the reaction of stalwart Joshua Kimmich, who, in an interview with Sky Sports Germany, questioned the enthusiasm and passion of the whole squad and the urge to play for the badge.

“I wonder how we can put in such a performance in a game like this. It's completely inexplicable to me, it was like a friendly game in the second half. We players should go home and question ourselves”, said the defensive midfielder.
