Manchester City head coach Per Guardiola has released a bold statement, criticising the Premier League for not adjusting the schedule of the fixtures of reigning league champions Manchester City, as the club has continental football to play during the period. Manchester City are the reigning champions of England, Europe, and world, as the Cityzens managed to win a treble in the 2022/23 season and went on to win 5 trophies in the calendar year of 2023.

"We play Aston Villa at 20:15, then 12:30 vs Crystal Palace Saturday, 12:30! After we go to Madrid on Tuesday. Madrid have nine days to prepare, nine days! I'd like to think: oh give me one more day, because the difference is a lot. No chance...," said Pep Guardiola in an interview on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the vital title-deciding game against Arsenal, the Spaniard mentioned that the side are well and truly prepared to defend their crown and fight till the end.

"Our players, I know them... they have still: ok, you want to take our crown? Ok, let’s fight. With our people, let’s fight together, if they are able to do it...," he added.
