CBI Starts Probe In Football 'Match-Fixing' Case, Visits AIFF Headquarters In Delhi

New Delhi: As per the sources, in an alleged ongoing football match-fixing case, the Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a Preliminary Enquiry.
Recently, CBI officials went to the Headquarters of the Delhi-based All India Football Federation (AIFF) in Dwarka. They even looked for details documents of clubs’ investments. “CBI investigators visited Delhi based All India Football Federation (AIFF) Headquarters recently and asked for more information about the clubs and their investments in connection with alleged match-fixing in football,” sources told ANI.

“We have zero tolerance towards match-fixing. We have asked all the concerned clubs to cooperate with the CBI investigation,” says AIFF secretary general Shaji Prabhakaran to ANI.
As per the sources, the CBI is examining allegations that Singapore-based match-fixer Wilson Raj Perumal through Living 3D Holdings Limited has invested in Indian clubs. Wilson has been sentenced in Finland and Hungary and was previously jailed for match-fixing in Singapore in 1995.
On the basis of the current investigation of the case, CBI has written o a few football clubs under suspicion asking about their investment details. When asked if club officials can be called, a CBI officer told ANI that, “it is too early to say anything on this.”
