Brazilian Footballer Dani Alves Arrested After Being Accused Of Sexual Abuse

Even though Alves hasn't admitted to the charges, he has been detained by the law enforcing officials.

The 39-year-old player was summoned to a Barcelona police station where he was "taken into custody" and will now be questioned by a judge, said a spokesman for Catalonia's regional police force, the Mossos d'Esquadra.

Brazil footballer Dani Alves has reportedly been arrested by Spanish Police after he was accused of sexual abuse. As per a report carried by local newspaper La Vanguardia, Alves was arrested after interrogation in Barcelona with regards to a sexual abuse complaint filed against him. A woman has alleged that Alves abused her at a night club in Barcelona last year.

Proceedings for “for an alleged crime of sexual assault as a result of the complaint filed by a woman for events that allegedly occurred in a nightclub in Barcelona last month" have started said Catalonia’s Supreme Court as quoted in a report by The Mirror.
