FIFA World Cup 2022: Eden Hazard Announces Retirement Post Belgium's Terrible Run In World Cup
His brilliant performance helped Belgium reach the 2018 World Cup semi-finals.
At the age of 31, Eden Hazard, Belgium skipper declared his retirement from international football on Wednesday. Belgium’s poor run in the FIFA World Cup 2022 forced him to retire from the game. Hazard started playing international football back in 2008 and scored 33 times in 126 appearances. His brilliant performance helped Belgium reach the 2018 World Cup semi-finals. He also represented his country in the 2014, 2018, and 2022 World Cups.
“Thank you for your unparalleled support,” he posted on Instagram. “Thank you for all this happiness shared since 2008. I have decided to put an end to my international career. The succession is ready. I will miss you.”
